Vincent Labeyrie, Airbus Operations SAS

Abstract

Data has changed many people’s daily lives and it has changed the waywe see aircraft at Airbus. Using massive data collection on production aircraft has improved the safety and quality of our aircraft tremendously over the past years. An example of this is presented in this paper.

Actors from many disciplines across the company, including delivery teams, flight test, customer support, design office, data analysts and maintenance specialists have been working hard to achieve the goal of zero faults at aircraft delivery.

Delivery teams and customer support provide insights on the most urgent issues to be handled, maintenance specialists provide their expertise on which guidance exactly is needed to tackle an issue efficiently. Data analysts and design offices develop predictive and diagnostic models that address these issues as early and as thorough as possible.

Possibly even more importantly, aircraft delivery teams have been made aware how they can use aircraft data to serve our customers more efficiently and deliver a higher quality product.
