Abstract

A fundamental principle of aircraft flight testing is the capability to access in real time measurement data and monitoring the test flights from a ground station. Therefore telemetry architectures are existing for decades. New implementations with a large extent of redesign require various steps and considerations beginning from the on board data acquisition system till the data hand-over to the test crew on ground.

This paper outlines the considerations, approaches, tests and campaigns taken to implement a new telemetry
architecture into a fighter type test aircraft fleet in Manching during a huge FTI System refurbishment.
