Summary of the 2nd SFTE EC Mini-Symposium

Paris, France (1989-06-19/20)

The European Chapter held their second "Mini-symposium" on June 19-20 at Avions Marcel Dassault Breguet Aviation (AMD-BA) in Paris. 30 -35 people attended the meeting.

AMD-BA generously sponsored the meeting and gave two lectures as well as the opening speech by Chief Test Pilot Guy Mitaux Maurouard.

Mr. Jean Robert was most helpful with the arrangements and took good care of the attendees.

In the frame of the mini-symposium activities a visit was arranged to the Argenteuil Factory of AMD-BA where they build fuselages for several versions of Mirage and also for the Falcon.

Instead of having an informal dinner the social part was a boat trip on the river Seine. It developed around Notre Dame and back past the Eiffel Tower, the 100th anniversary of which, by the way, was celebrated with special illuminations. It was a memorable evening and, despite the late hour, there was no need for a jacket.

After the lectures a Chapter Business Meeting was held, also including the Election of Chapter Officers.
