The SFTE EC Symposium 2016 - Registration

The 27th SFTE European Chapter Symposium will be hosted in cooperation with etc2016 at Nürnberg Convention 10-12 May 2016 in Nürnberg, Germany.

Registration is now open.

Read about the registration options on the combined Conference - etc2016 - SFTE EC page.

The registration for the whole SFTE EC symposium 2016 is a one-checkbox-item called “10 + 11 May 2016” with a fee of either:

  • 420,00 € (EST / SFTE Member - SFTE EC Symposium) – for SFTE-members
    or
  • 480,00 € (Regulär - SFTE EC Symposium) – for non-SFTE-members

This fee includes the tour to Airbus Helicopters at Donauwörth on May 12!
The Bavarian evening is included in the complete-symposium-fee, spouses or one-day-registered can booked in addition (65€).
Everyone can also book single days, if one wants to stay one day only. The 12-May-tour cannot be booked solely.

New SFTE EC Logo Contest

The Society of Flight Test Engineers European Chapter announces a public contest for choosing a new Logo for the chapter.
All proposals should be submitted to symposium2016@sfte-ec.org
The proposals should be in a vector or compound (e.g. svg or eps) image format.
Deadline for receiving the designs will be 1 st of May 2016.
The Design will have to contain or make reference somehow to the SFTE logo:


The jury will be formed by the SFTE European Chapter Board.

The winner will be announced and the new logo revealed during the 27 th symposium in Nuremberg, Germany from 10 th to 12 th of May 2106.
There will be no possibility of appeal or reclamation against the decision of the Board.
All rights for the selected design will go to the chapter.
The winner will be awarded with a suitable prize.

AW609 Tiltrotor and Crew Lost on Test Flight

On October 30, the flight test community suffered a sad loss when the second prototype AW609 crashed in Italy, with Pietro Venanzi and Herb Moran on board. The pilots were well known in the SFTE community and had delivered several presentations at our symposia.

Please keep Pietro, Herb and their families in your prayers and thoughts.

The SFTE EC Symposium 2015 - Invitation

The 26th symposium of the SFTE European chapter will take Place 6-8 October 2015 in Seville Spain. The School for engineers of the university of Seville will be our host.
The theme for this year is “Flight Test, where no one has gone before”.
Certainly most of the work on flight test has to do with opening the envelope and go beyond to the unexplored to check that what theory and simulations were right. Where no one has gone before. Seville is also the home of the Airbus Defence & Space Flight Test Center. Here is where most of the test in military aircraft in Europe are managed.
