The SFTE EC Jesualdo Martinez Award In Flight Testing has been created to commemorate our colleague and board member Jesualdo Martines Rodanes, who tragically deceased in the accident of A400M MSN 23, in Seville in May 2015.

The Computed Air Release Point (CARP) is the position in space from where the first element dropped in aerial delivery will land on the designated Point of Impact (PI) of the Dropping Zone (DZ).
A400M is equipped with automated load release system based on CARP function.
It is also integrated into the Head’s Up Display (HUD), allowing the crew to monitor the drop sequence.
The objective of this paper is to describe the CARP function installed in to the A400M which is FT analysis tools department responsible.
